To connect people with God by helping them find Jesus and to become fully devoted followers of Christ.


Our Story

In October 1998, CityGate Church began as Word of Life Family Church and gathered in homes, a hotel and meeting rooms until we purchased our current land and building in 2004.


As time passed and the church grew, Pastor Rich had a stirring within his heart. He had a renewed vision and purpose to connect people to God and help them find and follow Jesus Christ. It was then that he remembered a word of prophecy given about the church in its early years,


“Is it any wonder that I have placed you at the gate of the city…”


In October 2017, marking nineteen years, Word of Life Family Church became CityGate Church.


Today, CityGate Church is a diverse group of people with a heart to reach others for Christ. We love to gather, but we know it’s not just about getting together. Church is more than a place to go. It’s who we are as followers of Christ and we desire to be a body of people who actively raises up the next generation of disciples of Jesus.   


Our CityGate Dream

A vision grows steadily in our hearts—of a unique, ever-expanding, multicultural church that radiates undeniable evidence of Christ’s love in a warm, Spirit-filled atmosphere.


We dream of a church that teaches people to live beyond the limits of the possible, to witness and experience the miraculous. A church that remains sensitive to those unfamiliar with faith, while being saturated with the presence of the Holy Spirit.


We envision a church where members are passionate, eager to invite their closest friends, neighbors, and coworkers, giving them the chance to encounter the astonishing power of God’s love and grace. A place where lives are transformed by the clear and undeniable reality of Christ’s redeeming power.


We see a church that refuses to wait passively for people to enter its doors, but instead actively reaches out into the community, sharing the greatest story ever told—the story of God’s boundless, unquenchable love for humanity. The story of a Father who sent His only Son so that we might have life.


In this dream, we see hundreds, even thousands, coming to Christ through the influence of this church. A church that embraces the responsibility of touching lives around the world through the life-changing teaching and preaching of God’s Word.


This church is CityGate.


We hope you too will feel a deep, personal connection to this dream, because even in the face of the greatest challenges, we sense God’s strength and grace upholding this calling.


This dream begins right here, at CityGate Church.


Many of you may have come to CityGate believing it was a matter of personal preference, something you chose based on your own desires. But remember the words of Jesus: "No one can come to the Father unless the Father draws them." You were drawn to CityGate, and He has placed you here.


Only with His help can we fulfill our calling and purpose.


And one day, through our faithful response to His call and our surrender to His grace, we will hear those glorious words: "Well done, good and faithful servant; enter into the joy of the Lord!"
